RPGmaker MV uses a grid system made up of ‘tiles’ of 48x48 pixels. Mario is a pretty fascinating rabbit hole. kind of claymation-looking pre-rendered 3D style. Update: Ok I have literally looked for this everywhere and cant find anything starting to think that maybe it doesnt even exist at all. To clarify, when I say 3D, I mean the way that the buildings stand out against the background in the Black and White games, and even Gen 4, unlike previous Gen 3 games where it looks stuck to the ground. I mean there IS a RPG Maker MV Sonic The Hedgehog tileset, but not a Super Mario one. The link that was given to Neo-Mode was just to the script, without any direction on how to make things 3D. Looking back, I can also see that someone asked this question before, all the way back in 2013, where Neo-Mode 7 was recommended and linked. Then go into the Tilesets tab in the database, create a new tileset, and select your images to go into the appropriate slots. I realize there is a way to do this with RPG Maker MV, but as far as I can tell, Pokemon Essentials is not supported by that yet. They need to go into the img/tilesets folder (Im assuming thats where you put them, but you didnt specifically say, so just pointing that out). I could just use the Tilesets, but I'd much rather make them look 3D like in the actual game. THAT is what was proposed, using two different tilesets and switching them on the same map will change the map in the same way, and you have to keep the parts using different tiles far away from each other so that the player doesn't see that effect.īasically you're much better off with planning your map to use only specific tiles and different fixed tilesets.I want to preface this by saying I just got back into making games and wanted to do something different than traditional, so I'm trying to make a game of my own with kind of Gen V-ish Tilesets and sprites. You can make a very easy test to see the problem: take any of your existing maps with for example the indoor tileset (or load a sample map with it). Im using inkscape to create the image, page set to 384x768, image set to 48x96- as I would like my bookcase to cover 2 tiles in RPG Maker mv. In my opinion it is easier to split the map at the connections and have it used at multiple maps with different fixed tilesets. wrong with a bunch of his resources is that they often lack depth so would appear as a 2D object rather than depicting 3D in a 2D world lol. ![]() ![]() basically you have to keep the regions that use different tilesets so far away from each other that the player can't see the other region, because that region WILL change on changing the tileset.Īnd each pert where the player can travel from one region to the other would have the same tiles on both tilesets and events to use the change tileset command. As far as mansion tilesets, PandaMaru has a pretty decent set that could work, other creators have made odds and ends that would fit the 'luxurious mansion' theme. ![]() The option to use multiple tilesets by changing the tileset requires a lot of eventing and is anything but easy. ![]()
